Not long after my mother died, I was on my way back from Sarasota, where I love to go biking. I had spent the day alone riding along the beautiful Florida west coast and around the bays and lagoons that I love, thinking about the legacy that my parents gave to me. I wanted to see the sunset over the gulf, but needed to start my road trip home. So I reluctantly left the sun hanging a half hour short of its glorious exit. But as I drove up 275, listening to Love 105 on the radio; something happened. Just as I started up the Sunshine Skyway a familiar tune hit the airways, and the words slowly swept over me, and melted me in my seat. I slumped down, slowed my speed to 30 miles an hour, rolled down my windows, and turned up the volume to max. Two guys from the 60’s started to sing softly…Click here to view complete weekly update.
