Thanking Our Healthcare Heroes

A huge thank you to all the St. Lukers who helped us put a smile on the faces of our local Healthcare Heroes! Thanks to your generosity, we delivered 205 meals and goodie bags to employees of the COVID-19 Units at Health Central, Dr. Phillips Hospital, and ORMC. This would not have happened without U!

   

One of the recipients shared, “I wanted to personally reach out and say how impactful your beautiful gifts of gratitude were for our entire team in the Covid Unit. It was so personalized to receive a hand written note and the team absolutely enjoyed them, most even shedding a tear of joy. We are so appreciative and cannot express in words how wonderful that was to be able to see how impactful our care has been to the community we serve. The lunch was an added benefit that everyone enjoyed. Please thank each and every person involved in making the bags and organizing all of the wonderful goodies. It was heartfelt and really came at a great time. Thank you again!”

It is difficult to not feel despair at our loss of normal life, but it is inspiring to see how the St. Luke’s community has adapted to the changes. From moving worship online to ensuring people out of work have access to food, St. Lukers have found ways to adjust to the new normal. Our community has not wavered in its desire to spread God’s love. This outreach is our most recent effort to share God’s love with the Healthcare Heroes who work tirelessly to provide comfort to the sick. To all the healthcare workers out there, we see you, we appreciate you, and you are loved at St. Luke’s Orlando!
