ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF MISSIONS

ST LUKE’S UNITED METHODIST CHURCH

ORLANDO, FLORIDA

FT / 40+ hours

Position Summary:
The Associate Director of Missions will be an integral part of the Missions Ministries Team, which includes the Mission Council, lay leaders, volunteer teams, staff, interns, and independent contractors. This role involves maintaining and creating systems for communication, volunteer tracking, and financial management across all areas of the Missions Ministries. The Associate Director will assist in directing mission ministry leaders, volunteer teams, interns, and independent contractors, as well as coordinate volunteer recruitment and mission events.

Directly Reports To: Director of Missions Engagement

Preferred Qualifications:

Degree in Social Work, Social Studies, Management, or related field with a focus on human development, poverty alleviation, or project administration.
Certificate in Project Management with experience in logistics coordination, financial management, and event coordination.
Quick learner of new database management systems.
Preferred Skills:

Passion for social justice and mission work.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in computer software, including Microsoft Office, social media, and data visualization in Excel.
Experience in cross-cultural work and volunteer relations preferred.
Ability to manage volunteers and prioritize multiple programs in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to compile annual impact reports.
Major Areas of Responsibilities Include:

Managing logistics for different programs.
Managing volunteer scheduling, sign-up, and communication.
Managing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Collecting and submitting information for the promotion of mission activities and events.
Responsibilities:

Build strong relationships with staff from other ministry areas at St. Luke’s, volunteers, and partner organizations of St. Luke’s Missions.
Organize regular meetings and training sessions for Mission Leaders and Core Teams.
Coordinate logistics and provide administrative support for joint St. Luke’s Missions and community partner activities.
Ensure financial records are accurately and timely submitted to the Missions Executive Director and Finance.
Design and maintain systems for communication with Missions volunteers and the St. Luke’s congregation.
Collate information, stories, photos, and blurbs from Missions staff, volunteers, and community partners for use in monthly e-newsletters.
Coordinate the process of collecting and integrating feedback from volunteers.
Coordinate the compilation of data, stories, and testimonies for monthly e-newsletters and the annual Missions report.
Salary Range: $40,000 – $45,000 based on education and experience
