FITNESS OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOU

We want to emphasize the importance of taking care of our physical bodies as well as our mind and spirit. Regular exercise and physical activity promote strong muscles and bone as well as improve overall health including our respiratory and cardiovascular health. Additional benefits can be improved self-esteem, sleep quality, mood and energy. We have several fitness classes that we are proud to offer on campus to help you achieve your health goals.

YOGA

Stillness and Stretch Yin Yoga:  Want to nourish your heart, mind, soul and improve strength? Quiet and candlelit, this class offers both physical and mental calming techniques. Participants sit or lie on the mat, with the use of support such as bolsters and blocks, and relax your muscles to experience a deep stretch which has tremendous healing effects. No experience or physical ability necessary, but you must be able to get up and down from the floor. This class is on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. in Building A room 201, and led by our long-time member, Angie Winn. The class is Free for all, yet donations are welcomed, and will go to our Lofting Leaders Teen Program and to replenish supplies. Please bring a mat, but we have some if needed. Email Angie to sign-up HERE or for additional questions or information.

All Levels of Vinyasa Flow yoga: Vinyasa is a type of yoga that links movement and breath to attain balance in the mind and body. From the Sanskrit “to place in a special way,” vinyasa yoga aligns a deliberate sequence of poses with the breath to achieve a continuous flow. This is held on Tuesdays with Jack or Thursdays with Ella Bouriak at 6:30 p.m. in Building A room 201.
