Dear Beloved Church Family,
It brings great joy to share with you the amazing time we are having during our Vacation Bible School this week. Our theme is all about discovering wonder in God’s love for us and how it calls us to love others. With over 200 kids in attendance and 125 youth and adult volunteers, we truly are feeling the power of the Holy Spirit moving through us all. Kids are encountering fun, friends, and faith through their experience at Wonder-FULL!
One of the highlights of the week will be on Friday, when we invite the kids to sing a song of one voice, reminding us that we can lead with love and champion justice when we come together as one. This is especially felt through our connection with our brothers and sisters working with ZOE Empowers. The kids have connected deeply to their stories of caring for each other’s needs as deeply as we do our own. Throughout VBS, our hope is to raise over $2,000 to help family empowerment groups in Rwanda.
As we look forward to the rest of the summer, we have many opportunities to further our curiosity and wonder, and lead with love. Coming up we have two summer camps, each focused on creation care and taking care of each other through Christ-like compassion, and preschool camps. We are also excited for the kids participating in this summer’s musical production and theatre camp, The Little Mermaid and The Little Mermaid Jr., where they will discover how to use their voices and be a part of another’s world. Looking ahead to the fall, we encourage you to consider serving in Children’s Ministry, or serving on the Kids Ministry Council. Together we can make a lifelong impact on the lives of our children, helping them to grow in their faith and love for God.
Finally, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude for your continued support and generosity in making disciples and investing in the spiritual lives of children. Your dedication to this ministry is truly making a difference in the lives of so many young people.
May God bless you all and continue to guide us as we seek to do His will.
Sincerely,
Lana Stevens (St. Luke’s Director of Children’s Ministries) and the Kids Ministry Team
