Hey St. Lukers – how’s your Resurrection Monday going?
Next week, I leave with a few other St. Lukers and folks from two other churches on a trip to Mutare, Zimbabwe, to go and see the community groups that St. Luke’s sponsors through ZOE Empowers. It’ll be my first time on the continent of Africa, and my first time getting to see the incredible work that ZOE does firsthand.
As I think about what I’m being called to in my coming Resurrection Monday life, I’m excited to begin my Eastertide journey learning from our ZOE kids in Zimbabwe. We’ll get to travel to their villages, meet the family groups, and hear directly from them the way they have been learning about themselves, naming their dreams, and becoming entrepreneurs so that their lives of empowerment become empowering for their whole families and communities.
I don’t yet know what God has to show me, but I am so excited to find out. I hope you’ll be in prayer for our team as we travel, and during our time there.
What is it that you’re doing to help keep growing in your faith and answering your Resurrection Monday callings? In worship, we’ll be exploring what it means to be St. Luke’s On Purpose – how are we being called to live as a Resurrection Monday church? Be sure you have listened to this week’s “Your Week with St. Luke’s” podcast episode (available wherever you listen to podcasts) to prepare yourself for worship this Sunday! And if you haven’t already, there’s still time to sign up for groups and classes that will begin next week – click here to see a full list of opportunities.
And if you’re ready to take the next step in serving in St. Luke’s ministries for the first time, or maybe you’re looking for that next calling, be sure you’ve taken the Lead Your Life Inventory (click here) that will help you identify your gifts, skills, and style, and connect you directly with serving opportunities that match your gifts. There might be something that surprises you!
I look forward to hearing all about your Resurrection Monday callings, and I can’t wait to share our learnings from Zimbabwe in a few weeks.
Blessings,
Pastor Melissa
