Dear St. Lukers,
Can you believe it’s already mid-November and coming up on Thanksgiving week? It’s been a whirlwind of a month and this weekend was full of St. Lukers leading their lives with God’s story of love and grace. A huge thanks to all of our United Women in Faith and their volunteers for their year-long work to put on the annual Holiday Marketplace last weekend. They made $28,000 over two days, all of which will be used for missions locally and globally!
We also baptized four children and three youth in worship, and 29 young people publicly confessed their faith in Jesus Christ during Confirmation Sunday, becoming St. Luke’s newest Partners in faith and ministry. They stood before a room full of family and friends to take their membership vows and commit to being a part of St. Luke’s mission and vision, and to living out our values. These young people are on fire, and I am so excited about how St. Luke’s will grow through their service and callings.
This Sunday we will share the final 24 & More Vision pillar as we consider what it means to DO and BE More for Central Florida. Dr. Ryan Bonfiglio’s podcast episode this week on the difference between temple and tabernacle ministry from Ezra 3 will guide us. Be sure to listen before Sunday and check out your pastors having a conversation in a special bonus episode that connects all of our Scriptures this past month to the hopes and vision God has for us. Listen to “Your Week with St. Luke’s” wherever you get your podcasts, or by clicking here.
This week in worship we will celebrate the 24 & More Vision with one church-wide service at 9:30 a.m. in the Sanctuary. We will have music from our Sanctuary Choir and Praise Team, dancers, children, and youth will be joining us, and we will have a chance to commit ourselves to being a part of God’s ripples in our city. After worship, we will join together for a big community brunch as we kick off Thanksgiving week together!
Don’t forget there is only one week left of our 23 Days of Thanks-Giving! Keep adding to our word cloud of thanks, and if you haven’t given your Thanksgiving Offering online, consider bringing it to worship on one of the next two Sundays.
I cannot wait to worship with you and celebrate the vision God has for 2024 and MORE. I know the ripples God is inviting us to make will change us, and transform hearts and our city.
Blessings, gratitude, grace, and anticipation –
Jenn.
