A Note from Pastor Jad-January 16, 2025

Grace and Peace Beloved St. Luke’s Family,

It’s hard to believe that we are three weeks into 2025. Is anyone else still forgetting and writing 2024? Just me? With a new year comes new opportunities. Various studies and classes started last week, and people are journeying and growing together in their faith and service to others. And this past weekend was full of excitement and connection! Our Men’s Ministry kicked off 2025 at Miller’s Ale House, and it was a fantastic time. Seeing so many men gathered for fellowship, laughter, and meaningful conversations was a joy. If you missed it, don’t worry—there will be plenty more opportunities to get involved as we continue to grow this ministry. You can register for our first monthly Men’s Ministry breakfast event of the year (Thursday, February 20) by clicking here!

Our new Women’s Ministry also hosted a kick-off open house earlier this week, and all reports are that it was a wonderful time of connection, inspiration, and planning for all the incredible opportunities coming up in 2025. Stay tuned for more ways to get involved, or reach out to Liz Vasquez for more information.

Looking ahead: We are excited to have the Bethune-Cookman University Concert Chorale in concert on Sunday (January 19) at 7:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary! This extraordinary choir is renowned for their talent, energy, and soul-stirring performances. Their harmonies will lift your spirit and leave you inspired long after the final note. This is a special opportunity to experience one of the most acclaimed collegiate choirs in the nation right here at St. Luke’s. Invite your friends, neighbors, and family members to share in this incredible evening of music and joy. This powerful night will be great as we seek to remember and honor Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s life, ministry, and legacy. You won’t want to miss it!

Lastly, you will not want to miss worship this week as we continue our sermon series, “BE.” Two weeks ago, we explored “Be Guided,” just like the Magi who were guided by the star to find Jesus. Last week, we celebrated the baptism of our Lord and remembered our baptism and that each of us is “Beloved.” This week, we’re diving into “Be Ready.” Even if you don’t think you are “ready,” join us for worship! It will be a powerful, inspiring, and supportive time together. Whether you join us in-person or online, there will be great music and a meaningful message that will encourage and challenge you to live out your faith.

We can’t wait to see you in worship and at these amazing events. Let’s continue to grow together as a community rooted in God’s grace and love.

Blessings,

Pastor Jad
