A Note from Pastor Jad-December 1, 2022

Grace and Peace Beloved Family,

I pray this finds you well, and that you are not too overwhelmed as we step further into this Advent season. It is an exciting, festive time with parties, decorations, and shopping! It’s definitely exciting around here at St. Luke’s. Our worship spaces are filled with lights and trees, and there is so much happening around campus. Our youth production of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer Jr. is this weekend, and our annual Christmas Concert is the following weekend, so we invite you to come and support these amazing ministries, and get into the holiday spirit!

This Sunday in worship, we will light the second candle on the Advent Wreath as Pastor Melissa and I preach from Matthew’s nativity account. Also this Sunday, we will celebrate our Confirmation class as they claim their faith for themselves, confirm their baptism in Christ, and become full adult Partners/Members of St. Luke’s. Since it is the first Sunday of the month, we will be ALL-IN for Advent as we lift up those who will be impacted by this year’s special Advent Offering. What a beautiful and glorious gift this Sunday will be.

We hope you join us for worship on campus this week, where we will have our regular 9:30 a.m. services (Traditional in the Sanctuary and Contemporary in Founder’s Hall). Then we will have one very special service at 11:15 a.m. in the Sanctuary to confirm and celebrate our youth in taking their next step in Partnership with St. Luke’s, with music led by our Youth Praise Team. The service will be led by all four St. Luke’s Pastors, and most importantly, our Confirmands will confirm their faith in Christ Jesus. It is a powerful and important time in these young people’s lives. I hope you will join us to worship, celebrate, bear witness, and support our youth as they make this important step in their lives and their faith, because it’s not St. Luke’s without U.

Grace, Peace, and a Blessed Advent,

Pastor Jad
